What is the laser diode?
The laser diode is a de-focused laser, normally using the wavelength of 810 nm for laser hair removal. These devices emit a monochromatic light beam able to reach the hair bulb in a selective manner and hit it with the heat without damaging the surrounding tissue. The laser light affects only the melanin of the bulb, destroying it.
808nm Wavelength
Standard wavelength in laser hair removal is 808 nm . It offers deep penetration of the hair follicle with high average power, a high repetition rate and a large spot size for fast treatment. The 808 nm has a moderate melanin absorption level making it safe for darker skin types. Its deep penetration capabilities target the Bulge and Bulb of the hair follicle while moderate tissue depth penetration makes it ideal for treating the arms, legs, cheeks and beard.
