Two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders picked Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Das for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.
Both the players were picked on their base price later in the player auction, held in Kochi on Friday after both of them went unsold in the first call.
Shakib’s base price was RS 1.5 crore while Liton’s base price was RS 50 lakh.
It will be the first time for Liton to feature in the biggest franchise-based tournament in the world while Shakib represented Kolkata several times in previous years and also won titles in 2012 and 2014 respectively.
Pacer Taskin Ahmed remained unsold in the first call during the auction. The right-arm pacer’s base price was RS 50 lakh. Afif Hossain was the other Bangladeshi player listed in the final auction list.
